The Escapade.

As mentioned during the mid choreo review, we will be having a fundraiser!

This year we are opting to have a Flare Clubbing event which we are co-hosting with Melbourne Uni & Monash Dance Sport. The main reason we have chosen this is in hopes of creating stronger bonds and friendships between the members of the club. All proceeds will go into compensating for the money used in room bookings.

Therefore we need all cast members to sell AT LEAST 4 tickets, because without the money for the rooms, we'd have no place for rehearsals.

Info is as below:

1) All dancers are required to sell 4 tickets to the event. (Your own ticket is included in the four tickets)
Tickets to The Escapade will be distributed to choreographers. They will make sure that each dancer gets 4 tickets at least. Do ask them for more if needed. All money collected from ticket sales must be returned to Su Lynn by 7th Oct 2008.

2) Tickets are priced at $20. For every 10 tickets sold, you will get a free ticket

3) Table bookings are now open so book your tables now. Minimum purchase of one bottle to book one table. So hurry, as tables are going fast. (do specify if you want your table in the latin/RNB room). A bottle purchased will get you two free tickets. Two bottles purchased per table will get you 5 free tickets.

4) This will be a one off event of both Salsa and RNB. So dancers it’s time to get a taste of both the worlds of Flare and Dancesport.

5) ::EARLYBIRDS::

Fabio will be conducting a Salsa lesson from 10pm - 1130pm. Please come early as he usually charges $300 per class. This is a lesson you DO NOT want to miss!

6) Prizes to be won!!! $200 worth of David Jones & Myer Vouchers to be given for thebest dressed guy/girl.

Come join us in a night of absolute fun and entertainment as we take it to the dance floor and show you what Flare is all about!

Our 7th annual dance production will be showcasing an array of styles from hip-hop to contemporary, jazz to theatrical, and even bollywood too!

Eclipse, one true moment in time where we are all united as one, our differences forgotten, in an array of styles and talents, hopes and dreams, all expressed through dance.

Ticket Collection for Eclipse 2008!

tickets are all ready for collection from mon 15th sept - fri 19th sept.we will be having table sitting from monday to friday 12-2pm just opposite chill out(where the sta travel and the security office is).so PLEASE come and collect the tickets from mon onwards.

if you really really really cant come for collection,please let me know by email (alyntan@hotmail.com) so that i'll be able to pass them to your choreographers to give it to you.but as far as possible, please collect the tickets yourselves because you also need to sign them off.

everyone will be given 15tickets(5 tickets each day).

it is $12 for concession and $15 for adult.
on the ticket,there's a box on the right hand corner.READ PROPERLY! if the person you are selling to is an adult,please tick the box before you give them the ticket.ONLY FOR ADULTS!!!

i'm giving you all the whole holidays to sell your tickets.so by 6th october(monday) that week,i expect everyone to give me back all the unsold tickets as well as money for the sold tickets.we will be having table sitting from uni reopens till production.so come find us.we'll always be at the usual spot 12-2pm.however,if you wish to return the unsold ones and all the money before that,it'll be better.

TAKE NOTE!!! NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO GIVE ME BACK ALL 15 TICKETS!!!!!!! i will not accept that.sorry but everyone has at least 1 friend right? lol do ask them all to come :)

What's happened, and what's coming up?

So sorry people that this blog has been left untouched for a month plus. Will try to recount all that has happened within the month in Flare.

Most important things first! Flare will be setting up a table at Union House everyday from 12-2pm beginning next week (excluding the spring break week). This is to allow cast members to collect their Eclipse tickets to be sold, and also to sell tickets! So bring your friends, tell them about it and SELL OUR TICKETS OUT! We're counting on all of YOU to make this happen. It definitely will!

There was Mid Choreo Review at Dancehouse. Was good fun seeing the rest of the cast members, especially those who didn't dance in the same pieces that we were in. Even more awesome to see how much progress each piece has made since day one, to see what they've all been working so hard for. And I must say, the results are massive :) This year's production is looking mightily good, so keep working hard guys and girls. Remember to turn up for rehearsals all the time now, this time is the most crucial! Dance all the way!

Flare performed at the Festival of Nations! We had a few hip hop routines, coupled with a few jazz ones. The effect? We had HEAPS of fun dancing! I think the crowd loved it too. Remember, those who are interested in doing gigs, there're currently gigs open for you to turn up to and learn the steps. Check out the rehearsals page on the website!

"Inaugural production of the Flare Dance Company, "Metamorphosis", showing on October 3rd and 4th at the Renaissance Theatre, Kew High School. This is the first staged production of this not-for-profit amateur dance company. The production will showcase a variety of dance items in styles including contemporary, ballet, jazz and ballroom. Proceeds will go to Autism Victoria."
